Acidic media environments are one of the harshest working conditions for industrial heat exchangers, widely existing in chemical pickling, metallurgical acid washing, pharmaceutical acid synthesis, wastewater acid treatment and other industrial scenarios. Strong acidic media have strong corrosive and oxidative properties, which can rapidly corrode and oxidize metal heat exchanger equipment and ordinary anti-corrosion liners, resulting in rapid equipment aging, leakage and scrapping. Ordinary rubber lining, plastic lining and epoxy lining are easy to hydrolyze, age and peel in long-term acidic environments, with short service life and frequent replacement. PTFE material has outstanding resistance to all types of acidic media, including strong inorganic acids such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid, and various weak organic acids such as acetic acid, formic acid and oxalic acid. In high-concentration and high-temperature acidic working conditions, the molecular structure of PTFE remains stable without chemical reaction, decomposition or structural damage. Different from polymer materials that are prone to acid hydrolysis and molecular chain breaking, PTFE will not produce aging failure such as surface cracking, swelling and peeling after long-term immersion and scouring in acidic media, maintaining stable structural integrity and protective performance.
The optimized processing technology further enhances the service life of PTFE lining in acidic media. High-density integral molding eliminates internal pores and defects of the lining, preventing acidic media from penetrating into the lining interior and corroding the metal substrate. The tight composite structure makes the lining have strong anti-permeability and anti-scouring ability, resisting long-term acid liquid scouring and osmotic corrosion. Even in alternating working conditions of high temperature, high pressure and strong acid, PTFE lining can maintain stable performance for a long time, and the service life is more than 6 times that of traditional anti-corrosion lining materials PTFE TUBE.
