Modern industrial production covers extremely diverse temperature working scenarios, including ultra-low temperature cryogenic processing, normal temperature conventional production, medium and high temperature thermal processing, and variable temperature cyclic operation environments. Traditional industrial polymer materials are limited by their narrow temperature adaptation range and can only be used in single fixed temperature scenarios, which cannot meet the multi-scene and full-temperature domain production needs of modern industry. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), with its excellent wide-temperature adaptation performance of -200°C to 260°C, has achieved large-scale applications in almost all industrial fields, becoming a universal high-performance industrial material for full-temperature range working conditions PTFE SHEET.
In low-temperature industrial fields, PTFE is widely used in cryogenic chemical industry, cold storage equipment, low-temperature logistics and aerospace low-temperature systems. In the production, storage and transportation of liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, liquefied natural gas and other cryogenic media, the equipment needs to work in ultra-low temperature environments for a long time. Ordinary sealing and insulation materials are prone to brittle cracking and sealing failure at low temperature, leading to medium leakage and safety accidents. PTFE sheets, gaskets and tubular products can maintain stable sealing and structural toughness in ultra-low temperature environments, effectively ensuring the tightness and operational safety of cryogenic equipment. In cold storage and low-temperature processing workshops, PTFE anti-corrosion and insulation components can resist long-term low-temperature erosion without performance degradation.
In normal temperature industrial scenarios, PTFE plays an important role in industrial anti-corrosion, mechanical lubrication, electrical insulation and environmental protection filtration. Conventional normal temperature industrial equipment has high requirements for material stability and corrosion resistance. PTFE’s excellent chemical inertness can resist the corrosion of acid, alkali, salt and various organic solvents, protecting industrial equipment from chemical erosion. Its ultra-low friction coefficient can reduce mechanical operation friction and wear, improving the operational efficiency and service life of mechanical equipment. At the same time, PTFE’s stable insulation performance is widely used in normal temperature power distribution equipment and electronic and electrical insulation protection, with stable and reliable use effect.
In medium and high temperature industrial fields, PTFE has become an indispensable high-temperature resistant material. Industrial high-temperature furnaces, high-temperature steam pipelines, thermal power generation equipment, metallurgical processing equipment and chemical high-temperature reaction devices all need materials that can withstand long-term high-temperature operation. Traditional rubber and plastic materials are easy to age and fail at high temperature, while PTFE TUBE, molded plates and special-shaped parts can work stably at 260°C for a long time, maintaining stable sealing, insulation and anti-corrosion performance. In high-temperature industrial flue gas treatment and high-temperature filtration systems, PTFE filter materials can also resist high-temperature flue gas erosion and realize stable filtration and purification functions.
In variable temperature industrial scenarios with frequent cold and hot alternation, the wide-temperature advantage of PTFE is more prominent. Outdoor industrial equipment, mobile engineering machinery, intermittent production equipment and new energy power equipment often bear temperature fluctuations from low temperature to high temperature. Traditional materials are prone to thermal fatigue aging under repeated temperature changes, with short service life and high replacement cost. PTFE has stable temperature cycle resistance, no structural fatigue and performance attenuation after long-term cold and hot cycles, which can adapt to complex variable temperature working conditions and greatly reduce equipment maintenance costs.
With the continuous development of industrial upgrading and special process technology, industrial equipment has higher requirements for material full-temperature domain adaptability and comprehensive performance.
