Modern semiconductor chip fabrication has entered the advanced nanometer manufacturing era, where sub-nanometer-level cleanliness, zero impurity pollution, and ultra-stable material performance have become the basic prerequisites for qualified wafer production. Chip manufacturing processes including photolithography, etching, deposition, cleaning, and doping are extremely sensitive to micro-particles, metal ions, and organic volatile contaminants. Even trace impurity precipitation or micro-particle shedding will lead to wafer circuit short-circuit, pattern distortion, and product yield decline. Ultra-high purity semiconductor-grade PTFE has become an irreplaceable core auxiliary material for critical chip fabrication processes by virtue of its zero metal ion content, ultra-low outgassing, non-particle shedding, and extreme chemical inertness PTFE SHEET.
Different from industrial and food-grade PTFE materials, semiconductor-grade PTFE adopts 100% virgin ultra-high purity fluororesin, completely eliminating recycled materials, inorganic fillers, processing additives, and pigment components that may introduce impurities. The whole production process is carried out in Class 100 ultra-clean workshops, with high-temperature purification, vacuum degassing, and multi-stage impurity removal processes to ensure that the material contains almost no residual monomers, volatile organic compounds, and heavy metal ions. Strict semiconductor-level testing proves that ultra-high purity PTFE will not produce any ion precipitation or micro-particle shedding in long-term ultra-clean operating environments, fully meeting the strict material access standards of wafer fabs and advanced chip manufacturing lines.
In critical chip fabrication links such as wafer surface cleaning and high-purity chemical transmission, ultra-high purity PTFE materials maintain absolute chemical stability with various corrosive and high-purity process media. Semiconductor manufacturing involves a large number of high-purity chemicals including hydrofluoric acid, nitric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrogen peroxide, and ultra-pure water. Ordinary plastic materials will undergo chemical corrosion, molecular degradation, and impurity dissolution when contacting these media, polluting process fluids and wafer surfaces. Semiconductor-grade PTFE has a stable fluorocarbon molecular structure, which is completely inert to all semiconductor process chemicals, avoiding secondary pollution of process fluids and wafers PTFE TUBE.
Ultra-low outgassing performance is another key advantage of ultra-high purity PTFE for chip fabrication. In vacuum photolithography and plasma etching processes, high vacuum environments require all auxiliary materials to have extremely low volatile precipitation. Semiconductor-grade PTFE undergoes professional vacuum baking and degassing treatment, with outgassing rate far lower than the SEMI standard for semiconductor materials. It will not release organic gas molecules in high-vacuum and high-temperature process environments, preventing gas molecule adsorption on wafer circuits and avoiding pattern defects and electrical performance abnormalities of chips.
With the continuous iteration of chip manufacturing technology from 28nm to sub-10nm advanced nodes, the industry’s requirements for material purity and cleanliness are becoming increasingly stringent. Ultra-high purity semiconductor-grade PTFE materials are widely used in wafer transfer accessories, process cavity lining plates, high-purity medium sealing parts, and cleaning equipment components. It effectively solves the industry pain points of micro-particle pollution and ion contamination in traditional auxiliary materials, greatly improving the yield and stability of chip production. As the core ultra-clean material for advanced semiconductor manufacturing, ultra-high purity PTFE will continue to support the iterative upgrading of high-end chip fabrication technology.
