PTFE Coated Fabric for Microwave Transmission and Low-Loss Radomes

Jul 23,2026

By:Amptfe

Microwave communication equipment, radar detection systems, aerospace radomes, and wireless signal transmission devices require shell and protective materials with ultra-low dielectric loss and stable microwave transmission performance. Traditional polymer materials and ordinary coated fabrics have high dielectric constant and large microwave signal loss, which will cause signal attenuation, transmission distortion, and detection accuracy reduction, seriously affecting the working performance of precision communication and radar equipment. PTFE coated fabric, with its ultra-stable dielectric properties and low-loss microwave transmission characteristics, has become the core material for manufacturing high-performance radomes and microwave protective covers PTFE SHEET.

PTFE material has extremely stable dielectric constant and ultra-low dielectric loss tangent in the full microwave frequency band, with almost no signal absorption and attenuation effect on microwave and radio frequency signals. Different from glass, metal, and ordinary plastic materials that interfere with electromagnetic signal transmission, high-purity PTFE coating can ensure high-efficiency and low-distortion transmission of microwave signals, without signal reflection, refraction, and loss interference. The high-purity glass fiber woven substrate also has excellent wave-transparent performance, which will not block electromagnetic wave propagation, realizing perfect low-loss microwave transmission of the composite fabric.

As a radome material, PTFE coated fabric has excellent environmental adaptability and structural stability. It has super weather resistance, ultraviolet resistance, and rain erosion resistance, maintaining stable dielectric and wave-transparent performance after long-term outdoor exposure. It will not absorb moisture and deliquesce in humid environments, avoiding dielectric performance changes caused by moisture absorption, which is crucial for long-term stable operation of outdoor radar and microwave equipment. The high-strength woven structure can resist wind pressure, snow pressure and external impact, ensuring the structural integrity of radome equipment.

Cooperated with high-performance PTFE TUBE dielectric insulation materials, PTFE coated fabric forms a complete low-loss electromagnetic protection system, widely used in communication base station radomes, meteorological radar protective covers, aerospace vehicle wave-transparent structures, military detection equipment radomes, and precision microwave instrument outer protection. The material maintains consistent wave-transparent performance in extreme temperature and complex electromagnetic environments, ensuring the accuracy and stability of signal transmission and detection.

In addition to low-loss microwave transmission performance, PTFE coated fabric has light weight, flexible molding, and easy processing characteristics, which can adapt to various radome curved and special-shaped structural designs. Its excellent flame retardancy and corrosion resistance further improve the safety and durability of radar equipment. With the rapid development of 5G communication, high-precision radar detection and aerospace technology, PTFE coated fabric has become an indispensable low-loss wave-transparent material, providing reliable material guarantee for high-efficiency and high-precision electromagnetic signal transmission.
