Dielectric strength is the core performance index to measure the bearing capacity of electrical insulation materials under high-voltage electric fields, and it is also the key technical standard to determine the reliability of high-voltage insulation systems. In AC and DC high-voltage power transmission, industrial high-voltage electrical equipment and new energy power systems, insulation materials need to withstand long-term strong electric field impact, instantaneous voltage surge and partial discharge erosion. High voltage PTFE insulation systems are designed and optimized based on the excellent inherent dielectric properties of PTFE materials. Through standardized material selection, precision processing and systematic structural matching, they build high-reliability insulation solutions with superior dielectric strength, breaking through the performance limitations of traditional insulation systems PTFE SHEET.

The fundamental advantage of PTFE insulation systems lies in its ultra-high and stable dielectric strength. Different from common engineering plastics whose dielectric performance is easily affected by temperature, humidity and electric field duration, high-purity PTFE materials maintain stable dielectric strength above 35 kV/mm in extreme temperature and complex environmental conditions. Its volume resistivity is as high as 1×10¹⁶ Ω·cm, which can effectively block current leakage and avoid insulation breakdown caused by electric field penetration. In order to further adapt to high-voltage extreme working conditions, optimized PTFE insulation systems adopt polymer blending and surface treatment technologies to improve the uniformity of material internal structure, eliminate internal defects such as pores and impurities that easily cause electric field concentration, and further enhance the overall dielectric stability of the insulation system.

A complete high voltage PTFE insulation system covers diversified product forms including PTFE molded sheets, skived sheets, PTFE tubes, PTFE rods and customized gaskets, which can realize full-process insulation protection for high-voltage equipment. PTFE TUBE products are widely used in wire and cable insulation penetration and high-voltage component isolation. Their uniform wall thickness and smooth inner and outer surfaces avoid local electric field distortion, ensuring consistent dielectric performance of the insulation system. PTFE skived sheets with ultra-thin and uniform thickness are suitable for layered insulation of high-precision high-voltage equipment, realizing lightweight and high-strength insulation protection. Molded PTFE sheets with high density and high structural stability are used for overall insulation isolation of large high-voltage equipment, with strong pressure resistance and electric field impact resistance.

In addition to excellent dielectric strength, high voltage PTFE insulation systems have comprehensive environmental adaptability that other insulation systems cannot match. The material has excellent low and high temperature resistance, maintaining stable dielectric performance from -200°C ultra-low temperature to 260°C continuous high temperature operation, without brittle failure at low temperature or thermal aging failure at high temperature. It has excellent chemical inertness, resisting corrosion from acid, alkali, oil and various industrial chemical media, and will not deteriorate in humid, dusty and polluted industrial environments. At the same time, PTFE insulation systems have outstanding arc resistance, which can effectively resist electrical damage caused by repetitive discharge and instantaneous arc impact, and maintain long-term stable insulation performance in high-frequency discharge environments.

In terms of industrial application verification, high voltage PTFE insulation systems have been widely used in 110kV, 220kV and ultra-high voltage power transmission and distribution equipment, and have passed strict industry dielectric strength tests and long-term operation assessment. Compared with traditional epoxy resin insulation and rubber insulation systems, PTFE insulation systems have 30% higher effective dielectric strength, 50% longer service life, and lower maintenance cost in later operation. With the continuous improvement of power system voltage levels and the increasingly strict safety standards of electrical equipment, high voltage PTFE insulation systems with superior dielectric strength will become the core insulation solution for high-end high-voltage electrical equipment, promoting the upgrading and iteration of the power insulation industry.
