Encapsulated PTFE O Ring with Silicone or FKM Core

Single-material sealing components often have performance bottlenecks in complex industrial working conditions: pure PTFE O-rings have excellent corrosion resistance and temperature resistance but insufficient elastic compensation ability, while silicone and FKM (fluororubber) O-rings have good elasticity but poor chemical resistance and surface wear resistance. Encapsulated PTFE O-rings with silicone or FKM core adopt a composite structure of outer PTFE encapsulation and inner elastic core, perfectly combining the advantages of PTFE’s environmental adaptability and elastomer’s high elasticity, and become a high-performance composite sealing solution for complex working conditions PTFE TUBE.

The outer layer of encapsulated O-rings is made of high-purity seamless encapsulating PTFE SHEET material, which completely wraps the inner silicone or FKM elastic core. The PTFE outer layer isolates the inner elastic core from external industrial media, effectively protecting the core material from chemical corrosion, solvent erosion, high-temperature aging and surface wear. It solves the defect that silicone and FKM cores are easy to swell, age and fail in corrosive environments, and retains the ultra-low friction, anti-stick and high-temperature resistant characteristics of PTFE. The seamless encapsulation process ensures no gaps and no exposure of the inner core, achieving full protection of the elastic structure.

The inner core chooses silicone or FKM material according to different working conditions. The silicone core has excellent low-temperature elasticity, hygienic safety and high-temperature softness, suitable for food, pharmaceutical, low-temperature environmental protection and sanitary sealing scenarios. The FKM core has superior high-temperature resistance, oil resistance and pressure resistance, suitable for high-temperature oil medium, hydraulic transmission and heavy-duty industrial sealing environments. Both elastic cores provide stable and lasting elastic support and compression compensation for the seal, making up for the insufficient elasticity of pure PTFE materials, ensuring that the encapsulated O-ring has excellent fitting performance and gap self-compensation ability.

This composite structure enables encapsulated PTFE O-rings to achieve comprehensive performance breakthroughs. Compared with ordinary single FKM or silicone seals, they have stronger corrosion resistance, wear resistance and pollution resistance; compared with pure PTFE seals, they have better elasticity, better low-pressure sealing performance and stronger adaptability to equipment gaps. In dynamic sealing and static sealing scenarios with complex media and variable pressure, encapsulated O-rings can maintain long-term stable sealing performance, avoiding common failures such as medium erosion, elastic fatigue and surface wear of traditional composite seals.

Encapsulated PTFE O-rings with silicone or FKM cores are widely used in food and pharmaceutical sanitary equipment, chemical corrosive medium pipelines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, automotive fluid pipelines, and precision industrial equipment sealing. The customizable core material and standardized PTFE encapsulation structure make this product highly adaptable, able to meet the differentiated sealing needs of multiple industries, and become a cost-effective and high-reliability composite sealing product in modern industrial sealing fields.
