Semiconductor Grade PTFE Coatings for Corrosion-Resistant Equipment Surfaces

Aug 20,2026

By:Amptfe

Semiconductor manufacturing equipment is exposed to strong corrosive process media, high-energy plasma and high-temperature environments for a long time, and the metal surfaces of equipment are prone to corrosion, oxidation and particle precipitation. Corroded equipment surfaces will produce metal impurities and oxide particles, which pollute ultra-clean process environments and wafers, seriously affecting chip yield. Semiconductor-grade PTFE coating technology provides ultra-clean, corrosion-resistant and anti-pollution surface protection for semiconductor equipment, which is an important technical means to maintain the long-term stable operation of ultra-clean manufacturing equipment PTFE SHEET.

Semiconductor-grade PTFE coatings are made of ultra-high purity PTFE resin without any low-grade additives and fillers, fully complying with semiconductor industry ultra-clean standards. The coating forms a dense, seamless and non-porous protective film on the surface of metal equipment, completely isolating the contact between metal substrates and corrosive process media. It can resist the long-term erosion of strong acid, strong alkali, oxidizing chemicals and plasma in semiconductor processes, fundamentally preventing equipment surface corrosion and metal ion precipitation. Different from ordinary industrial anti-corrosion coatings, semiconductor PTFE coatings have zero impurity precipitation and zero particle shedding, which will not cause secondary pollution to ultra-clean workshops.

In addition to excellent corrosion resistance, semiconductor-grade PTFE coatings have ultra-smooth non-stick performance and anti-fouling ability. The coating surface has extremely low surface tension, which can effectively resist the adhesion of process chemical residues, micro-particles and organic pollutants. In wafer cleaning equipment, chemical storage tanks and process pipeline equipment, the coating avoids residue accumulation and bacterial growth, reduces equipment cleaning frequency, and maintains the long-term ultra-clean state of equipment surfaces. Matched with high-purity PTFE TUBE components, it forms a full-equipment anti-corrosion and anti-pollution protection system.

The coating has excellent high-temperature resistance and plasma aging resistance, adapting to the extreme working conditions of semiconductor equipment. It can work stably at 260°C for a long time, resisting high-temperature process heat radiation and plasma ablation, without coating peeling, discoloration and aging failure. Its excellent insulation performance can avoid electrostatic accumulation on the equipment surface, prevent electrostatic adsorption of micro-particles, and further optimize the ultra-clean environment of semiconductor production lines. After professional curing treatment, the coating has strong adhesion and wear resistance, and will not fall off during long-term equipment operation and cleaning.

At present, semiconductor-grade PTFE anti-corrosion coatings are widely used in semiconductor process equipment, chemical storage and transportation equipment, and cleanroom auxiliary equipment. It effectively solves the problem of equipment corrosion and surface pollution in semiconductor manufacturing, extends the service life of high-precision equipment, reduces equipment maintenance costs, and ensures the long-term stable operation of ultra-clean production environments. It has become an essential surface protection technology for high-end semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
