The seam strength and welding process quality directly determine the overall mechanical stability, wind resistance, water tightness and service life of the membrane building. In large-span membrane structures, the welding seam needs to bear continuous tensile load, wind-induced alternating stress and temperature deformation stress for a long time. PTFE architectural membranes have special welding characteristics due to their stable fluorocarbon molecular structure. Indoor pre-welding and high-standard finished product protection are adopted to avoid dust and moisture pollution affecting welding fusion quality. For special parts such as curved surfaces, corners and node connections, targeted segmented welding and reinforced welding processes are used to improve the seam strength of complex parts and avoid stress concentration damage. After welding, professional tensile test, water tightness test and appearance inspection are carried out to ensure that all welding seams meet engineering safety standards.
Long-term durability of welding seams is an important advantage of professional PTFE membrane welding technology. Ordinary adhesive splicing and low-quality hot welding seams are prone to aging, degumming and cracking after long-term outdoor wind, sun and rain erosion. High-standard PTFE hot welding forms molecular fusion integration at the joint, with consistent material properties and original membrane, excellent weather resistance and aging resistance. The seam strength remains stable for a long time, no degumming and cracking failure occurs, and the service life is synchronized with the main membrane material.
