PTFE O Ring with Excellent Solvent and Acid Resistance

Chemical industrial production, pharmaceutical synthesis, laboratory chemical experiments and environmental protection wastewater treatment involve a large number of strong acid media and organic solvent environments. Traditional sealing O-rings such as rubber, silicone and ordinary plastic seals are easily corroded, swollen, dissolved and cracked by strong acids and organic solvents, resulting in frequent leakage failures and short service life. PTFE O-rings with excellent solvent and acid resistance rely on the inert fluorocarbon molecular structure to achieve universal resistance to acids and solvents, becoming the core sealing material for corrosive chemical working conditions PTFE TUBE.

PTFE O-rings have absolute strong acid resistance, and can resist long-term erosion of various strong acid media including concentrated sulfuric acid, concentrated hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid and mixed acidic corrosive solutions. Unlike fluororubber which can only resist partial weak acid and medium acid, PTFE materials will not produce chemical reaction, swelling deformation and structural damage in any strong acid environment, always maintaining complete structural integrity and stable sealing performance. This extreme acid resistance makes it suitable for long-term sealing of acidic reaction equipment and acid liquid transmission pipelines in chemical industry.

In terms of solvent resistance, PTFE O-rings are completely inert to almost all organic solvents, including benzene, toluene, xylene, ethanol, acetone, methanol, ether, ester solvents and various mixed organic solutions. Organic solvents have strong dissolution and swelling effects on most polymer sealing materials, which will quickly fail after contact, while high-purity PTFE SHEET made O-rings have zero dissolution and zero swelling in solvent environments, completely avoiding sealing failure caused by solvent corrosion. It can work stably in long-term solvent immersion and solvent vapor erosion environments.

In addition to single acid and solvent resistance, PTFE O-rings can adapt to complex mixed corrosive environments where acid and solvent coexist. In chemical production processes where acidic media and organic solvents are mixed and transmitted, traditional composite seals are difficult to adapt to dual corrosion and have a high failure rate, while PTFE O-rings maintain stable performance without attenuation. At the same time, it has excellent temperature corrosion resistance, and can still resist acid and solvent erosion in high-temperature heating reaction environments, solving the problem of accelerated corrosion failure of ordinary seals under high-temperature corrosive conditions.

Solvent and acid resistant PTFE O-rings are widely used in chemical acid-base reaction kettle seals, organic solvent delivery pipeline joints, pharmaceutical solvent synthesis equipment, laboratory chemical instrument ports, environmental protection acid wastewater treatment equipment and fine chemical corrosive medium systems.
