The feed network is the core signal transmission and power distribution hub of high-power radar systems, responsible for transmitting high-power high-frequency electromagnetic signals from the transmitter to each antenna unit. It bears ultra-high power electromagnetic load, continuous high-frequency signal impact, and long-term heat accumulation during operation. The insulation performance of the feed network directly determines the signal transmission efficiency, power distribution uniformity, and operational safety of the entire radar system. Traditional insulation materials are prone to high-frequency breakdown, thermal aging, and signal crosstalk under high-power load conditions, which seriously restrict the power upgrade and stability improvement of high-power radar. PTFE high-performance insulation is specially applied to high-power radar feed networks, solving multiple technical bottlenecks of traditional insulation systems PTFE SHEET.
PTFE insulation has ultra-high high-frequency voltage resistance and high-power load resistance, which is the key to adapting to high-power feed network working conditions. High-power radar feed networks will generate strong electric field intensity during signal transmission, and traditional insulation materials are easy to have partial discharge and dielectric breakdown under high-power electric field stress. The consistent dielectric performance avoids signal interference and power loss between channels, ensuring uniform power distribution and synchronous signal transmission of the feed network, and improving the overall working efficiency of high-power radar.
Thermal stability is another core advantage of PTFE insulation for high-power feed networks. Long-term high-power signal transmission will generate a lot of heat in the feed network, resulting in a continuous high-temperature working environment. Traditional insulation materials will age and fail at high temperatures, leading to increased signal loss and reduced power transmission capacity. PTFE insulation can work stably at 260°C for a long time, with no thermal deformation or performance attenuation. Its excellent heat dissipation compatibility ensures that the heat of the feed network can be dissipated in time, avoiding heat accumulation and ensuring long-term high-power stable operation of the equipment.
High-power radar feed networks have high requirements for long-term operational reliability and fault resistance. PTFE insulation has excellent electrical fatigue resistance and anti-aging performance, and can maintain stable insulation performance after millions of high-power signal cycles. It can effectively resist instantaneous power surge and voltage impact, avoiding permanent insulation damage caused by equipment transient faults. Compared with traditional insulation schemes, PTFE insulation can reduce the power loss of the radar feed network by more than 35% and improve the continuous stable operation time of high-power radar by more than 60%.
