Low-Friction PTFE Cable Filler Enhancing Cable Flexibility and Longevity

Mobile equipment cables, robotic cables, wearable device cables and wiring harness cables need to bear frequent bending, twisting, folding and moving extrusion during long-term use. The friction between internal wire cores and filling materials is the main cause of cable internal wear and fatigue damage. Traditional cable fillers have high surface friction coefficient, which will produce severe friction and wear with wire cores during frequent cable movement, leading to insulation layer peeling, core wear and cable damage, seriously restricting cable flexibility and service life. Low-friction PTFE cable filler makes full use of the ultra-low friction characteristics of PTFE materials, effectively reducing internal cable friction damage, greatly improving cable flexibility and service longevity PTFE SHEET.

PTFE material has the lowest friction coefficient among all engineering polymer materials, with a static friction coefficient as low as 0.04, showing excellent self-lubricating performance. The low-friction surface of PTFE cable filler can form a smooth isolation layer between the wire cores and the filling structure. When the cable is bent, twisted and moved frequently, the friction resistance between the wire core and the filler is greatly reduced, avoiding rigid friction and scratch damage to the wire insulation layer. Compared with cotton yarn, rubber and ordinary plastic fillers, PTFE low-friction fillers can reduce internal cable friction wear by more than 80%, fundamentally solving the problem of internal wear and failure of flexible cables.

While reducing friction, PTFE cable filler maintains excellent flexible matching performance, which will not affect the bending flexibility of the cable. Some rigid low-friction filling materials will increase cable hardness and reduce flexibility, affecting the normal bending and folding of the cable. PTFE cable filler has good flexibility and bending followability, which can deform synchronously with the cable during bending movement, without internal extrusion resistance, ensuring that the cable maintains ultra-high flexibility and arbitrary bending performance. This performance is very suitable for flexible cables that need frequent bending and dynamic movement, such as industrial robot wiring harnesses and automated equipment mobile cables PTFE TUBE.

Long-term dynamic fatigue resistance is another major advantage of low-friction PTFE cable filler. Frequent dynamic bending will cause millions of friction cycles inside the cable. Ordinary fillers are easy to wear and powder after repeated friction, resulting in filler loss and internal structural looseness. PTFE filler has excellent wear resistance and friction fatigue resistance, with almost no wear loss after long-term repeated friction. It can always maintain a complete filling structure and smooth friction surface, ensuring the long-term dynamic working stability of flexible cables. Engineering tests show that flexible cables using PTFE low-friction fillers have a service life more than twice that of traditional filled cables.
