High-Strength Aerospace-Grade PTFE for Gaskets and O-Rings

Gaskets and O-rings are core sealing fasteners of aerospace equipment, widely used in engine systems, fuel pipelines, hydraulic systems, cabin sealing and precision instrument assembly structures. Aerospace sealing fasteners need to bear high-pressure compression, mechanical vibration, extreme temperature impact and fluid scouring for a long time, requiring materials with high strength, high resilience and long-term fatigue resistance. Ordinary PTFE gaskets have insufficient mechanical strength and compression resistance, easy to deform and fail under high load. High-strength aerospace-grade PTFE, after composite reinforcement and high-density molding, is specially used for manufacturing high-reliability aerospace gaskets and O-rings PTFE SHEET.

High-strength aerospace-grade PTFE adopts high-density sintering and fiber composite reinforcement technology, which greatly improves the tensile strength, compressive strength and compression resilience of the material compared with ordinary PTFE. Aerospace gaskets and O-rings made of this material have extremely low compression set rate, which can quickly recover elastic deformation after long-term high-pressure compression, maintaining zero-gap sealing state. Even under continuous high-pressure load and alternating vibration impact of aerospace equipment, it will not produce permanent deformation and sealing failure, ensuring long-term stable sealing performance of aerospace key parts.

Extreme environmental adaptability is the key advantage of high-strength aerospace PTFE sealing parts. The material maintains high-strength elastic performance in the full temperature range of -200°C to 260°C, without low-temperature brittle failure and high-temperature softening failure. It can resist extreme temperature alternation of aerospace equipment operation, high-altitude vacuum environment and cosmic radiation erosion, and will not age and fail after long-term service. At the same time, it has excellent chemical inertness, resisting corrosion of aviation fuel, hydraulic oil, lubricating oil and various aerospace chemical media, avoiding sealing failure caused by chemical erosion PTFE TUBE.

Different from rubber sealing parts which are easy to age and have short service life, high-strength aerospace PTFE gaskets and O-rings have ultra-long service life and low maintenance characteristics. They do not need frequent replacement and maintenance, which reduces the maintenance cost and downtime loss of aerospace equipment. The material has precise processing performance, which can be made into ultra-thin gaskets, micro O-rings and special-shaped sealing parts, meeting the precision assembly and high-reliability sealing requirements of aerospace precision equipment.

At present, high-strength aerospace-grade PTFE gaskets and O-rings have become standard sealing accessories for military and civil aircraft, aerospace engines, satellite equipment and space station facilities. They effectively improve the sealing reliability and service life of aerospace equipment, reduce equipment failure rate, and provide solid sealing safety guarantee for the stable operation of modern aerospace equipment.
