High-purity nuclear grade PTFE is a specialized fluoropolymer material developed for ultra-clean, high-safety and high-reliability working scenarios in nuclear power systems. Different from ordinary industrial PTFE that allows trace impurities and residual additives, nuclear grade high-purity PTFE adopts ultra-pure polymerization formula and full-process closed purification production technology, completely eliminating harmful components such as residual monomers, emulsifiers, inorganic ash, metal ions and volatile organic compounds. This extreme purity standard enables the material to adapt to the strictest nuclear industry operating environments and is the fundamental guarantee for the safe operation of nuclear reactor core systems PTFE SHEET.
The production process of high-purity nuclear grade PTFE is extremely rigorous, covering ultra-pure raw material screening, low-temperature polymerization reaction, multi-stage high-temperature degassing, high-precision filtering and dust-free sintering molding. Every production link is carried out in a Class 100 dust-free workshop to avoid external dust and particle pollution. The finished nuclear grade PTFE material has extremely low volatile content, zero heavy metal precipitation and zero particulate shedding, which fully meets the ultra-clean requirements of nuclear high-purity water systems, chemical reagent transportation and reactor internal environments. In nuclear power operation, any trace impurity may cause radiation decomposition, pipeline blockage, water quality deterioration or instrument failure, so high material purity is the primary technical indicator of nuclear-grade polymer materials.
High-purity nuclear grade PTFE not only has ultra-clean characteristics, but also integrates excellent comprehensive physical and chemical properties. It maintains stable chemical inertness in strong acid, strong alkali, high-temperature steam and various nuclear-grade chemical media, and will not produce chemical reaction, dissolution or contamination. Its wide temperature adaptation range from -200°C to 260°C ensures stable performance in nuclear equipment standby low-temperature environment and continuous high-temperature operation environment. A large number of high-purity nuclear-grade components processed from high-purity PTFE materials, including precision PTFE TUBE and high-density sheet materials, are widely used in nuclear-grade fluid delivery and sealing systems, ensuring zero pollution and zero leakage of process media.
In nuclear power plant daily operation and accident working conditions, high-purity PTFE nuclear grade material shows excellent anti-degradation ability. Under long-term gamma radiation and neutron radiation, the molecular structure of high-purity PTFE remains stable, without molecular chain fracture and performance attenuation, avoiding the embrittlement, cracking and failure problems of low-purity polymer materials after radiation aging. At the same time, its excellent dielectric stability and insulation performance can resist the interference of strong nuclear electromagnetic radiation, ensuring the stable operation of nuclear control system circuits and precision sensing equipment.
At present, high-purity nuclear grade PTFE has become the standard matching material for new-generation advanced nuclear reactors, nuclear power containment systems and nuclear-grade purification and delivery systems. With the continuous expansion of nuclear energy application scenarios and the continuous improvement of international nuclear safety specifications, high-purity nuclear grade PTFE materials with higher purity, better stability and stronger anti-pollution performance will be further popularized and applied, providing solid material support for the ultra-clean and safe operation of modern nuclear power systems.
