Annealed PTFE Extruded Rod for Reduced Internal Stress

Jul 22,2026

By:Amptfe

Conventional extruded PTFE rods will produce residual internal stress during the rapid extrusion and high-temperature sintering molding process. Long-term storage, secondary processing and alternating temperature changes will cause stress release, resulting in material bending deformation, dimensional warping, cracking and structural instability, which seriously affect the processing accuracy and service life of PTFE parts. Annealed PTFE extruded rods are processed by professional high-temperature annealing stress relief technology, which completely eliminates internal residual stress of materials and achieves ultra-high structural stability and dimensional consistency PTFE SHEET.

The professional annealing process is the core advantage of stress-relieved PTFE extruded rods. After the conventional extrusion and sintering of PTFE rod blanks, the products are placed in a constant-temperature annealing furnace for gradient temperature rise, constant-temperature heat preservation and slow cooling treatment. Through precise temperature control and time matching, the internal molecular chain of PTFE is fully relaxed and rearranged, the residual extrusion stress and sintering stress inside the material are completely released, and the molecular structure tends to be uniform and stable. Compared with non-annealed ordinary extruded rods, annealed PTFE rods have no potential stress, and will not deform and warp during cutting, turning, drilling and long-term use.

After stress relief treatment, annealed PTFE extruded rods have more excellent dimensional stability and structural fatigue resistance. The uniform molecular structure makes the material have stronger anti-creep performance and anti-deformation ability, and can maintain stable dimensional accuracy and structural flatness under long-term mechanical load, temperature alternating change and cyclic processing. It completely solves the common industry problems of delayed deformation, post-processing warping and stress cracking of ordinary PTFE rods. At the same time, the annealing process does not change the inherent excellent performance of PTFE materials, and the products still maintain ultra-high chemical resistance, wide temperature resistance range, low friction non-stick performance and excellent insulation performance.

In high-precision and long-term stable industrial applications, stress-relieved annealed PTFE extruded rods are matched with PTFE TUBE stable structural parts to form high-stability industrial matching systems. They are specially suitable for precision equipment parts that require long-term dimensional consistency, large-size PTFE structural parts that are easy to deform, secondary processing precision accessories and high-temperature alternating environment operating parts. They are widely used in precision instrument manufacturing, large industrial equipment anti-corrosion structural parts, high-precision sealing components and electrical insulation stable parts, effectively avoiding product scrapping and equipment failure caused by material stress deformation.

Internal stress deformation is a key hidden danger affecting the processing quality and service stability of PTFE extruded rods. Ordinary untreated PTFE rods have potential stress risks, which cannot meet the high-standard requirements of precision manufacturing and long-term stable operation. Annealed PTFE extruded rods with reduced internal stress perfectly eliminate the structural defects of conventional extruded rods. With ultra-high dimensional stability and structural uniformity, they provide high-reliability material guarantee for high-precision processing and long-cycle stable operation of industrial equipment, and are high-quality upgraded products of traditional PTFE extruded rods.
