Aerospace-Grade PTFE Tubing for Fuel and Hydraulic Lines

Aug 20,2026

By:Amptfe

Fuel delivery lines and hydraulic transmission lines are key load-bearing and functional pipelines of aerospace equipment, undertaking fuel supply, power transmission and flight control tasks. These pipelines work in complex extreme environments for a long time, facing challenges such as fuel corrosion, hydraulic oil scouring, high-pressure impact, extreme temperature change and mechanical vibration fatigue. Traditional metal pipelines are heavy, easy to corrode and fatigue crack, while ordinary plastic pipelines have poor pressure resistance and temperature resistance and cannot meet aerospace high-standard requirements. Aerospace-grade PTFE tubing, with lightweight, high pressure resistance, corrosion resistance and extreme environmental adaptability, has become the mainstream pipeline material for aerospace fuel and hydraulic systems PTFE TUBE.

Aerospace-grade PTFE tubing has excellent fuel corrosion resistance and medium compatibility. Aviation gasoline, kerosene and special aerospace fuel have strong permeability and chemical corrosion. Ordinary rubber and plastic pipelines are prone to swelling, aging, cracking and fuel penetration after long-term contact with fuel, leading to fuel leakage and safety hazards. Aerospace-grade PTFE tubing adopts high-purity modified formula and precision extrusion process, with dense and pore-free tube wall structure, which can completely resist fuel penetration and chemical corrosion. It has no chemical reaction with various aerospace fuels and hydraulic oils, maintaining stable pipeline structure and sealing performance for a long time, and eliminating fuel leakage risks.

In terms of pressure resistance and mechanical performance, professional aerospace PTFE tubing has strong burst pressure resistance and fatigue resistance. Aerospace hydraulic systems usually work under high pressure, and pipelines need to withstand long-term high-pressure cyclic impact. Ordinary plastic tubes are easy to expand and burst under high pressure, while aerospace-grade PTFE tubing has uniform wall thickness and compact internal structure, with high tensile strength and pressure resistance, which can stably bear aerospace hydraulic system working pressure without deformation and damage. In addition, the tubing has excellent vibration fatigue resistance, which can adapt to long-term vibration impact during aircraft flight without cracking and loosening PTFE SHEET.

Lightweight advantage is one of the core values of aerospace-grade PTFE tubing. Aerospace equipment has extremely strict weight control standards, and every gram of weight reduction can effectively improve flight range, load capacity and fuel economy. Compared with traditional metal hydraulic and fuel pipelines, PTFE tubing has ultra-light weight, which can greatly reduce the overall weight of aircraft and spacecraft. At the same time, the tubing has good flexibility and bending performance, which can adapt to complex pipeline layout of aerospace equipment, realize arbitrary bending and fitting installation, and simplify pipeline assembly process.

With the continuous upgrading of aerospace equipment towards lightweight, high efficiency and high reliability, aerospace-grade PTFE tubing has been widely used in civil aviation aircraft, military aircraft, rockets and satellites fuel and hydraulic pipeline systems. It solves the defects of heavy weight, easy corrosion and short service life of traditional pipelines, improves the safety and economy of aerospace equipment operation, and is a key lightweight functional material for modern aerospace pipeline systems.
